yeah so apparently every time you get the shits from questionable dairy or whatever theres potentially people out there getting butterflies and hot cheeks over it? good news for my kings with ibs and so on
they need to stop this NFL season now i am not joking or being facetious they need to reevaluate how football is played fundamentally and it should have happened after Tua earlier this season
they are doing CPR on a player down on the field right now this sport should not be played by children. it shouldn’t be played by anyone as it is right now
I’m no football fan, but it sounds like what happened here was commotio cordis, i.e. getting thumped in the chest at precisely the wrong instant such that it induces cardiac arrest. It can potentially happen in basically any sport and is unlikely enough that it’s essentially a freak accident. This isn’t the same thing as the concussions and subconcussive hits inducing CTE that are plaguing football at the moment, and I don’t think people should update much on it.
That Batman: The Animated Series episode where the martial arts master villain has a one-hit kill Batman has to figure out by examining his practice dummy? Yeah, that’s real. Kills a high school baseball or lacrosse player every now and then.
Left some water bottles in my car overnight last night and I thought they would be frozen when I got them out this morning, but they weren’t. Then I got excited because I thought they were supercooled and would turn into ice when jostled, so I slammed one down on the kitchen counter, but nothing happened. Disappointed, I opened it to drink and that’s when it froze.
So I took a little video of another one because it always makes me happy to see.
I am at this point a bit thinner than “Fat Thor”, and I am starting to wonder what I can do about what I can do to keep/put on weight, to maintain a reserve in case I keep having to run off anaerobic energy for stretches of time.
The issue seems to be that in these phases blood sugar isn’t usable for energy; I’m assuming it doesn’t get stored as fat either (or else the calories->fat->energy chain is so inefficient I’m losing appreciable weight off eating normal meals anyway?). So I’ve gotta overeat in between episodes when my energy levels are fine without taking creatine? (Recalling that the shallowest part of that I’m probably still draining fat running on anaerobic energy, just at a rate supportable by the body’s natural creatine levels)
What about lipid calories? Do those have to process via blood sugar somehow or convert directly to adipose tissue, or what?
Didn’t stand out because I have no clue what a “grognard” is, figured it was just a sort of generic insult. Wasn’t exactly trying to be rude, just teasing you in a way that’s probably not going to land well from a random Internet stranger, now that I think about it. Idk man, my bad. For what it’s worth, no disrespect for still chatting up undergrads at bars, I’m just impressed that it works. I swear 27-28 is too old for the 23 year olds around here lmao.
Yeah, beard-starting-to-go-grey seems to do something 27-28 didn’t
I dunno what “therapy” even is these days, it’s not psychiatry and when ministers did it they were at least professionals with thick ideologies behind them
I don’t get this at all. Why would a ‘thick ideology‘ matter to diagnosing and treating phobias, depression or PTSD? Do you also ask your dentist for a bible verse when they tell you to floss?
Unless of course you think that pharmacological treatments are the only way to go with mental illness, in which case the literature very much disagrees with that.
Well when girls (“girls”) talk about getting “therapy” it doesn’t seem in any addressing-DSM-issues sense as much as “becoming a better and more wholly complete person” and at least the ministers had something behind them saying what that was
40 something men looking for 20 something women seems like a fairly apt description of you, tbh. You might be in your thirties, but I’m not committed enough to the Kontext lore to do the math and check. (This is not an insult, just an observation)
Yes well new to Portland I was just out of my own 20s and I’m gonna politely overlook how the “grognard” bit didn’t stand out as off to you
