Polesawing continues! Side yard’s done, out to the front and looking up at the canopy from below saw a bunch of places I could be useful because of course I did. Today’s half-day included totally processing all outstanding tree gore into Strawberry Ridge though, so another half-day should absolutely conclude it.
Also stuff that was an unmetered task or not planned for at all; weeded the entire dry season’s worth of parking strip up the block, having never had enough water to flower; also handsawed off the last 10’ of a 150%-fatter-than-my-thigh-got-at-its-fattest branch

So “polesawing” is not only active again it’s passed over budgeted time already. Not “allotted”, I can do this indefinitely if I want. And after stuffing a half-day in “post-fall” already too.
Basically, I had planned on trimming up to the equivalent of a second-story ceiling (plus the tree’s maybe 4 feet lower outside a retaining wall) but found that with the intervening branches gone I might as well totally trim up to the crown at the 3rd-floor ceiling.
At that distance it’s tough to get the blade in place and I’m not biting in as well on each stroke but the stuff up there’s pretty thin anyway. Should be another half- or full day.

The uphill bamboo I’m gonna still have to spend like 3 minutes hosing out and prying out of cracks in the stone wall every other day for a while; based on experience with the other part of the wall I’m just putting down a quarter-day now and calling it.
The leaves haven’t fallen yet but half the “post-fall polesawing” was just stuff I couldn’t see clearly but with lower branches gone I got it.
Back down to a less ridiculous length on the polesaw, levering even the light load of the head at such a distance was killing my lower back.

Upstairs bamboo is all dug out, just gotta keep rinsing it to loosen the bits wedged in the cracks of the stone wall it was against. Took the lopper and started clearing waterspouts on the mimosa that were downstream of where I had professionals clear a fork last year off a branch thick and central enough it’s not necessary to keep them around until the leaves fall to fatten it up.

Got the new polesaw, got the entirety of the front mimosa and all the side trees except one branch, and also one that fell (the one the last saw lodged in) hung up on some other branches in a way I might not be able to tell until the leaves fall
