Welcome to the United States of America where if you want to be safe from guns you die if you want to get a safe abortion you die if you’re gay you die if you’re black you die if you’re a woman you die if you’re disabled you die if you’re a POC you die and no one will do anything about it because some stupid cuntrags that are two steps away from tripping on a staircase and dying cling to some dipshit beliefs from over 6 decades ago and decide to make it everyone’s problem
Wait I thought THQ went out of business. I used to write manuals for them! Also I got an interview with an exec once and was like “your wheelhouse seems to be releasing games whose brands provide pre-built audiences” and he got really defensive and borderline offended
The Show ads kind of weird because I grew up with a shit-ton of baseball games without licenses (I had Base Wars!) so it was like not about the major league stuff you recognize, it was about baseball, but these commercials are 85% The Major League Stuff You Recognize and 15% Baseball
So in conjunction with the empowered abilities I developed in the personality change I have to track and deal with new gauges: blood sugar, dehydration, blood pressure (as relates to elevation!)
Kinda reminds me of the higher difficulties of MechWarrior games where you had to track heat sinks and eject damaged ammo stores before they explode
Had a gaming deja vu feeling with a Total Extreme Wrestling mod called Death of the Territories set in the 1980s focused on the decline of the National Wrestling Alliance as a dominant cartel of various regional wrestling promotions bc of the whole thing of a powerful central institution that quickly erodes and gives rise to a free for all war between various regional warlords with colorful personalities and I realized oh yeah this is like playing a strategy game about the Three Kingdoms or Sengoku period
One of the new Tomb Raiders was available on the PS online, and… it was satisfying! But it was like, not open-world but outdoor survival crafting with stealth elements? And I remembered Tomb Raider from the start as an underground – like, subterranean – 3D crate-pushing, rock climbing puzzle brand
At first I was like “wow idiots” until the actual map. You would genuinely never expect the freeway to just suddenly be a normal road like that. You would still be looking for the proper exit and preparing to BEGIN slowing down by the time you notice only from the cues of your surroundings that you’ve already “left” the freeway and that fucking overpass would make it impossible to see those cues coming until you’re in them?!?!
when they upped realism on the car physics in GTA4
Just finally getting a broad enough view to realize how weird it was that Tom Petty and Aerosmith were mainstays of MTV when I was in middle school in the 90s
God, remember Revolution X, the 1994 Aerosmith-themed arcade gun game?
