I saw Garbage at the Electric Factory in Philly on the Version 2.0 tour. Shirley was in a sling from a breast biopsy (on tour!) and she was still a fucking ball of energy.

In contrast I remember The Cranberries canceling, and then learning they actually cancel a lot, and then Dolores O'Riordan died unexpectedly the other year and I noticed no one really brought up how she was a ‘90s rock star who sang about heroin and then missed a lot of shows for health reasons

it’s an atrocious ‘90s pastiche, but that’s the general theme of the musical and it’s one of the only female leads; this version’s actually pretty great how Maria Elena Ramirez wanders so fluidly through so many Lilith Fair (/pre/post) styles
