You think Justice Thomas retires to get replaced before the election?

If Trump loses, I suppose the Senate would prioritize nothing more than replacing him in the lame duck, I’m sure the Dems would try to stall but the Senate GOP’s more united with 2 more seats of buffer since Kavanaugh but still 2 months isn’t much room for error

‘course if you go before the election, I hear the states are really pushing Roe-killers to get decided by July 2020 and I question just how much bandwidth the system has to handle Supreme Court politics during election season

Now I suppose the bank shot would be for him to resign in time for those cases to be 4-4 pushes, do the replacement nomination in the shadow of that to actually resolve a bit down the road but that might be a bit too cute
