Hilarious payoff to the Colin Spacetwinks plotline that moving to Twitter did in fact expose him to people with established positions in ::gestures vaguely but broadly:: but this hasn’t particularly got him anywhere and now he’s mainly a high profile reply guy (who, I assume, still fulminates every so often that comics writers look out for themselves and don’t invite him in to overturn everything), so mostly like a Let’s Player of a guy yelling at the news on TV

The funniest shit is when ppl say they’re moving to Twitter like they’re doing it to improve their well being or something like in the same vein that people tell you they’re quitting smoking

moving to twitter is like moving from vapes to two packs a day

the only person I ever respected pulling this move in self-awareness was Colin “Kangaroo Cocksucker” Spacetwinks like “okay but on here I get in view of people who want to pay me instead of wasting all my good ideas for a handful of notes” but even there in the end I’m not sure it’s left him better off on that, let alone worth it

Like from experience it’s Los Angeles where you go to be in view of people who make noises to pay you for your clever-funny ideas, but trust me, there are problems with that strategy

I am aware of this, seen it several times, and it’s why I don’t leave tumblr for twitter

because my superpower is apparently noticing when the past bangs warnings like “selling out” and “the faustian bargain” into the culture

I remember when Kangaroo Cocksucker’s excuse for leaving tumblr for twitter was he wouldn’t get stuck in the same self-referential loops all the time and since then he’s said the same depthless things in different words about comics, politics, vidya, barbecue, gay self-doubt and Maine on a 4 day cycle to increasing acclaim, even balancing for winter depression

this maybe counts as a hatchet job, I’ll tag it as such
