It’s so funny seeing all the Japanese “New Religions” attempting to make sense of the post-WWII world with diagonal overheard takes on Western philosophy, religion, science, and psychology arranged in ways no Westerner would think to, (while often really being a tool for the guru to draw followers to extract money, sex, or political power from) and realizing the vice-versa equivalent was Buddhism
