@theresponseblog: From reading the lore, it’s basically “what if AI Foom but they didn’t necessarily want to Kill All Humans”, so yeah I feel like lots of people have had that idea before and since.

Played Halo 4 recently. Hear it was 343 taking over from Bungie. They put a lot of effort into beying loyal to the identity. A little too pastiche sometimes. The 3-way symmetry of the gun lineup, the levels retroactively justifying Halo 3 MP maps. The plot’s serviceable, nouns go to the Halo mythology and paragraphs to Marathon. I was a Mac kid, I appreciate it.
Now that Bungie’s free when do we get a story about a rampant AI named Joyeuse?

Oh: point being. It was so cool to be educated modern but then just Oh God The Romans, sometimes. Now that we’ve passed them that’s a fun fantasy we like to have fun with, but now the only place to project it is space.
