Ok one of my pet peeves is people classing the testing and abortion of Down Syndrome fetuses as “eugenic”, or even one of your -cide type permanent eliminations of a human variety.

Eugenics is about improving population quality by selecting for positive traits and against negative in reproduction so as to shape those present in future generations.

Down Syndrome is not hereditary, it arises spontaneously from irregularities in chromosome copying. Birthing fewer Down babies does nothing to reduce the incidence in future generations, and if a society ever stops filtering them, they will “come back” as before.
