Thinking about Mike Judge’s “the workplace sucks” in Office Space (1999) vs. “workers and employment regulations suck” in Extract (2009) and I think a lot of it isn’t even a white collar/blue collar divide so much as producerism – first, Office Space is employee vs. management while in Extract it’s vs. small business ownership, but moreover in Extract the employees are supposed to be producing a product, while what are they making in Office Space?
