Just saw Badger try to jump from the windowsill up to the chimney brick like I’ve seen scores of times before but this time he miffed the landing and fell into a bush

It is clear that Badger likes jumping up from the kitchen counter to atop the fridge because that’s the one place he can headbutt me from above

Well, Badger has figured out that if I have my bedroom door closed against him but the window open he can go outside and jump in that way.

Badger has realized he can jump up to the bathroom window when I’m on the john

Having open windows is a lot more pragmatic with a cat around when any annoying flying insect to try and take up residence inside will get eaten in a day or two

Finding that if he is awake, Badger will still come into the room I’m in to fall asleep on through the afternoon, but if he wakes up to turn over and I’ve switched rooms he doesn’t feel obligated to come find me before snoozing again.

Badger is curious but not particularly concerned about the fireworks

6 year anniversary from bringing Badger home

Ah, Badger’s got a fine, short winter coat now.

Badger doesn’t feel as tensed when you touch him as he did in kittenhood, moving along the process that leaves old cats feeling like a bag of bones I guess

Weird thinking about Badger and my parents and realizing it is a total crapshoot what order they all die in

Badger hadn’t curled up for me to skritch his belly since I got rid of the limp floor pillow I used to do it on beside my bed. I replaced it with a nice furry throw carpet with pad beneath, but he’s not trusted the surface enough to walk on when I wasn’t actively beckoning him, but today I finally got him to curl up at my crossed legs, it was great, I missed it

My phone just decided to raise my spirits with a slide show of when I first got Badger and it worked

(Amusingly, one of the slides was actually the model cat on a bag of cat food)

At this point easily half of me and Badger’s relationship consists in passing by where the other one is lying down to sleep, walking up and making them aware, then touching them a bit
