Some howling last night and then I saw two coyotes padding past my house, which as the owner of an outdoor cat I don’t love, but then I guess the stories of eating pets I remember from LA were “they climbed the fence to the backyard where my lap dog spends all day with no escape”; aside from the option to just jump in the window when I see him out at night he likes to show off by running two stories straight up a tree trunk
