One kinda shitty effect of the COVID stuff wearing off: after two years I have acid reflux again

As someone who’s dealt with acid reflux my whole life I just realized that’s what “just threw up in my mouth a little” was invoking. ‘cause it was used as like “a reaction of disgust” but I just thought of it as a meaningless bodily curiosity like hiccups

I dunno to rescue it maybe there’s some sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous effect on muscle tone involved, like how pissing and shitting are invoked as markers of fear

When I was young I used to think of it as “burping SpaghettiOs” because it had similar texture and acidity
