I remember they developed a chicken pox vaccine a few years back. Do many kids get it? I kind of hope not. Between the low stakes, the visible manifestation, the easy-to-understand transmission, the typical age at infection, and the tendency to get a whole cohort in one pass, it’s really hard to think of a better “My First Illness” experience.
