As such, McMinville Municipal Airport is probably the biggest national security presence in the state of Oregon. If you don’t count the light footprint of the Coast or National Guards, the only military facility in the state is literally a dump, and even that’s closing next year.

If you know what to look for, you realize that unlike a lot of states, Oregon’s senatorial delegation actually spends its influence not on bringing the federal government in, but on keeping it out.
