This was the big “party photographer” era, too. I’m not in that scene anymore so I wonder if that’s still a huge thing or it was just an artifact of the period after Facebook and DSLRs but before decent smartphone cameras and selfie style. I went to parties with The Cobrasnake and Cory Kennedy and their entourage of high school waifs, but that’s not saying much, it was hard not to. The photos for the parties thrown by the crew I ran with were by Shadowscene. Ellei was always a cool, chill girl. She’s in Philly now and does, among other things, throwback parties from back when I’ve been talking about. They’re called Electric Feel, with the tagline Music From the Sparks Era, which I think is really cute.
