And that people who are credibly accused of such a thing are rejected by unions, right? Like you know that, surely. And that the vast majority of public school teachers, especially in the US, do what they do only after years of training, are grossly underpaid, and only stay in the profession out of a genuine desire to Fucking Help Kids. Like “ooh, they don’t protect them from the police” meh – union lawyers can totally advise them on best practices re: the police, but like, they absolutely protect them from workplace investigation and discipline, which is where the police would refer “OOOH, I heard Vicky is fucking Mr. Miller!” anyway – they might pursue further if they’re brought evidence a prosecutor could use, but why would they investigate to generate it? Police obviously do not have an interest in undermining the protections unionized public workers have won at the bargaining table, duh.
