Fireplace guy tried to come in after the bell with an estimate to replace my whole chimney above the roofline, after he’d already talked me up from “replace the damper” to “break through the back wall and reline the smoke chamber”

But I NOOed him back, I’m gonna replace that when I add a second story anyway and even if it’s a little degraded I don’t terribly mind if smoke leaks out to Also The Open Air and if that’s 75 years of degradation exposed it can take 20 more with a cap
