Ya, Peanuts and NASA go way back.

Y’know those strips of Snoopy becoming the first beagle on the Moon? Those were written in tandem with the Apollo 11 mission.

Now I’m wondering what Schulz’ plan was if there had been a problem on the mission and Armstrong and Aldrin had been left behind to die on the moon.
