I&rsquo;d guess subcontinentals \u2013 this is partly where my ignorance of ethnic identities as seen from Britain fails me, I know British &ldquo;Asians&rdquo; were often called &ldquo;Pakis&rdquo; but I don&rsquo;t know how much Muslims/Hindus/Buddhists/Jains/Sikhs are differentiated, not to mention all the different nooks and crannies of <i>J\u0101ti.</i></p><p>Which is the thing, you&rsquo;d expect such a densely populous culture to have <i>more</i> outbreeding, but it&rsquo;s really a ton of little endogamous grouplets that could have local social structures that are pretty narrow but with very powerful ingroup gravity, I can see that giving rise to incest. That and the lack of Christianized outbreeding pressure, and how to this day Indian guys on the internet can be so unmaskedly yay-rape, including of relatives.</p><p>So who was it?</p>"}
