Is it just me or is Midnights.... Not very memorable? I've had a few listens and usually with TSwift I have at least one song that grabs me from the 2nd listen at least. I can't help but feel this is significantly less authentic than her previous albums.
I’ve overheard three people in public invoking Anti-Hero in their conversations in the last week. The hooks maybe aren’t as hooky, but if you’re listening to the whole album as a fan there are a shit-ton of references to older stuff sprinkled all throughout, I guess doing the Taylor’s Versions had her thinking about her back catalog, and streaming displacing singles might make that more, ah, album-oriented angle better.
