That said, whatever first name you pick, certainly you should pick a last name that’s alphabetically-very-early, so that if someone types your first name, you’ll be right there, even if you weren’t the one for whom they were looking.

I think it carried over from ‘80s stuff where there wasn’t as much media for, ah, porn smarks (no Internet, no Adult Video News, no Howard Stern radio interviews\u2026) so “like that other star you’ve heard of” was a more useful branding move
