Remembering my high school period when we had a state-winning football team but it was after all the fit girls chased scholarships to Title IX field hockey & lacrosse but before it became competitive gymnastics so the cheerleading team was Downs girls and other second-liners
We had like a “spirit rally” a year where they would take us out of class and bring us into the old auxiliary gym where we could pull out the wood seats and watch the girls do flips and insult our rivals for a while. I don’t think it was re: the same opponent each year.
