So between the times I was polishing my ideal self as a screenwriter and a private investigator, I actually kinda can do that Sherlock Holmes thing where I notice a particular detail and reconstruct the backstory behind it, the real difference is it doesn’t by itself yield a conclusion or clue, but it does highlight incongruities I can pick at
