Oh all the stuff where I could tell the 2010s were going to end up here, it wasn’t some Ozymandias gambit where I foresaw every specific turn, it was like I could conceive of a few (interrelated) fields of conflict, with various correlations of forces with different positions and momentums going for particular goals, and based on my understanding of these things in history I knew, by 2018 at latest, that friction would bring the insurgent forces down short unless they reconsolidated, and they weren’t lining up to.

And they haven’t!
