1) toads and frogs lay their eggs in water. eggs and embryos are not \u201cviable\u201d until they are a certain distance from water. how do the embryos get there. someone has to drag them in their mouth as they go down into the water
2) a virus can infect any cell it can penetrate. why don\u2019t we get more flu cases? why aren\u2019t viruses much worse at cell penetration?
3) mosquitoes cannot fly and have to jump onto a host and stick to the skin. how do they do this? why don\u2019t we get infected by, like, other things that jump on us and then stick to the skin?
4) there are lots of plants in the world. there are at least six different ones that are common, with at least twenty-six thousand described species (the list of plants in this article was pretty confusing)
5) the only reason plants can\u2019t fly is because they can\u2019t grow through the ceiling
6) although they\u2019re in a bunch of movies and stuff, ants are not real animals; they\u2019re not even animals the same way humans and dogs are animals. they\u2019re just very clever animals.
7) there are lots of animals that eat plants but also eat other animals
8) humans and birds evolved from dinosaurs. (but they\u2019re the same species. the human part is why some humans are bipedal and some humans have feathers and so on. the bird part is a different, but related, species.)
9) there are lots and lots of insects that are tiny and live underground \u2013 they\u2019re called mites
10) there are lots of things that look like leaves and leaves are only leaves and nothing else. no there aren\u2019t
11) there is actually a lot of stuff on this planet that is really scary because it lives inside other animals, and it lives inside the animals that live inside other animals, etc. etc.
