The other problem with “make bold demands” as a strategy is that it’s one of those strategies that always worked better for right-wing and/or authoritarian political demands than left-wing ones. A decent chunk of the left-wingers trying to adopt right-wing social tactics are the kind that will go right-wing when they either grow old or get accused of being a sex pest.
“‘make bold demands’ doesn’t work for left-wingers” is only true within particular boundaries and I’m kind of at sea which ones you’re invoking here
