Thinking about how in like high school I’d justify my largely theoretical interest in psychedelics (I read many books) in terms of building a more comprehensive understanding of my self by getting used to living without the support systems of sanity,

and could extensively describe the history of 20th century experimentation from Hoffman on, and the distinction between psychomimetic, psycholitic, and psychedelic (not to mention “entheogen” and “empathogen”)

And how that was maybe even a little cringe in retrospect until I happened to hit on an incredibly unusual combination (COVID->🧠) that demanded like, that exact expertise with success rewarded by… kinging me, basically. You know, checkers, “king me”?
