The tone is that such reaction might come again. </p></div>\n<p>We might forget the &lsquo;10s like we did the '70s, but I mean let me tell you The Queers <i>had a place</i> in the '80s narrative of itself: the AIDS crisis! That certainly broke continuity by literally killing a lot of people from the earlier scene off, and I wouldn&rsquo;t expect even the most faithful reenactment of cultural backlash to operate the same way without it.</p>"}
