Am kind of waiting for more TikTok-generation trends to start up and start shaping life in ways not responsive at all to ‘10s fault lines, because the only obvious direct way to put that decade fully to bed and move on is to have what remains of uh, the ascendant-insurgent coalition unite behind one major push only to see it not catch at all in ways they can’t deny, but at this point that would have to mean a federal election where Dems discard moderate attempts, go full throated, and lose in a landslide, super-empowering Republicans while searing in an impression that their continued participation in the system is a direct fundamental threat to all they value
