Right on the main corner of Collegetown in Ithaca, would have like 30 kinds of pizza slices available, cheeseburger and BBQ chicken slices like a full meal, owner was an effusive post-Ottoman immigrant who greeted everyone as “my friend!” and offered any slice for $1.50 near closing. Came out after I graduated he had brought two guys over from the old country, took their visas, and had them in the basement making pies for $5/day.
How did it come out? Did it make the news? Did the people escape?
