How Often Can You Be Infected With the Coronavirus?

So, yeah, COVID-19 seems to be following the path of its common cold coronavirus cousins in endemic circulation all along, evolving past immunity to reinfect several times a year.

It’s worth noting that if they had been released on a naive population it would be a problem, but several-annual infections since childhood induce broad resistance such that most infections are barely noticeable.

I expect that COVID will occupy a similar place (following a route that I assume they once did in [pre]history) and be a background part of the human environment from here on out, with vaccines mostly serving to “catch up” resistance to those who were already past relatively protected childhood at the time of its debut
