you want to know one of the things that pisses me off most about dune? it\u2019s not a valid complaint or problematic or anything. it\u2019s that the litany against fear works and I hate it.

I used to recite the Desiderata in my head when I was a kid at my mom\u2019s insistence but it\u2019s so fucking long and full of compound sentences and the stupid fucking litany just\u2026 works better lol. Stop asking me questions during blood donation I\u2019m busy mentally humiliating myself by being a fucking insufferable nerd.

For those who, like me, are unfamiliar with the litany, from the Dune wiki:

“I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
