Thinking of the iconic imagery of ‘80s-'90s urban homelessness, you might have built cardboard shelters, or mats atop steam grates, or refuse fires in a metal barrel, but I don’t remember tents

Maybe tents just got better.

On what axis though? Resistance to the elements? Durability? Ease of setting up and striking down? Cost/availability?
