gay ex-choir boy here and i think musicals are terrible actually so maybe not enjoyable per se? the music in musicals is actually pretty bad from a compositional standpoint unless it's phantom or smth its just also one of the few places you can sing that's neither catholic-adjacent or full of lonely wonderwall-guitar-het-boys that smell like cheese. so then sooner or later you find yourself pretending to like oklahoma.
