IF YOU WANT A PLANT TO TAKE UP SPACE UNDER A PINE TREE LOCALLY NATIVE EVERGREEN FOREST UNDERGROWTH BUSHES TOTALLY EXIST! MANY OF THEM BEAR TASTY FRUITS! WHY ARE YOU PUTTING ANOTHER PINE TREE THERE?
They keep planting their Christmas trees! And they die after several years of growing wide! I want to be like “have you noticed how this tree has been dropping cones here all along and not one has become a tree on its own?”
And if they’re like “oh, I thought it’s because pinecones were fire-adapted, they needed to burn to open”
YES! “A fierce inferno has just swept through the area” is the ONLY circumstance in which it makes sense to grow another tree RIGHT HERE
