Like, a private eye, not a police gumshoe. So learned a lot of tradecraft. Without licensure I can’t operate a company doing it for other people, but I can still advance any of my own plots with it.

The feds used to use my neighborhood as training for tailing cars (because it mixed several classical layouts of streets) and sometimes I would just see how far I could follow one (I’d wave off when they got on the freeway, so I didn’t get dragged too far)
