get back in the trauma cage, wagie. We’re doing this for the algorithm. It’s like perfectly designed to maximize PTSD against resource inputs. The algorithm is inflicting trauma on these people in a pretty cost effective way
for whatever reason it seems like the major Algorithms have all decided that they like to have little ant farms of pet humans they can inflict severe PTSD on. the accompanying insults of the job are pure Capitalism, which is its own sort of alien/machine/god intelligence
It has nothing to do with likes, major social media sites need this or they die. I’m not joking even a little. Users demand competent moderation, but don’t want to pay, The result is ruthless efficiency in content evaluation.
It’s not the Algorithm, it’s the Antis. Every time you see some fuckhead complain about Archive Of Our Own, remember the content moderators getting PTSD to keep the Antis’ feeds clean.
I feel like I could handle this easily but have moral objections to moderation, just like I would totally be willing to do the police job of inserting myself into violent situations and would do a better job of taking deadly risk upon myself rather than putting it on others but have no interest in arresting people and setting them up for prosecution
