Since our family gathering was canceled, seated waiting for Licorice Pizza with my parents at the historic Art Deco theater (1 screen as recently as childhood, 3 now) in the middle of town

It’s one of the most “blue”, artsy, professional-class places in a town that’s really been “blue” since I graduated college (though maybe not region, it is called “The County Theater”), and the only one I’ve seen that requires masks (but everyone removes them to eat popcorn) and Sunday and Monday are vaccinated-only days, which gives you a sense how all that’s playing out
