Riding around my hometown as a passenger, seeing how things have changed and taking the opportunity to see all these places in 3D. Noticing

  • It is not expected to wear masks in stores or anything here (“favored quarter” suburbs of Philly)
  • Very not contemporary “density” thinking. They “conserve open space” by leaving big undeveloped voids between properties, and have public parks near nothing in particular that you can drive to
  • More small independent stores selling things that seemed like “big box” territory by now, but conversely as the area grows with Doylestown as its core, more commercial buildings along the roads leading out of it torn down and replaced with higher $/sqft car dealerships
