I mean, of course you don’t get to pass major welfare spending programs AND a total reorientation of the industrial economy AND changes to voting systems explicitly intended to nerf one party and buff the other with a bare 50-vote+VP nominal Senate majority, even in parliamentary systems with absolute voting whip loyalty there are feedback mechanisms that prevent that
