So I’m Irish but I actually have a reverse Asterix & Obelix take where Gladstone’s conquest morally obligated them to renounce Papism but also even if they overcame that there’d just be another distinction by which they should supply grain to the home islands allowing specialization and expansion (remember how training a Settler requires a spare grain?)
