Apparently the title “A Christmas Carol” was one of those cigarette-burn memory losses in the last year: I remembered it was a Charles Dickens novella often staged as a play, the one with Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim and the three Christmas ghosts, and now having had to look it up and learn it afresh, I’m like “Really?
