One thing I like about Portland is the climate is similar to my childhood SE PA, so similar terrain and wildlife but even a bit better - the land younger and less samey, the seasonal extremes better – snow stays at most a day or two here, and… okay that 3-day heat wave earlier this year was nuts, but that wasn’t typical. It is, however, 5 degrees further north, so the swing in daylight is always more severe than I expect.
