I guess framing it as “CRT in schools” sets up school board races as a preliminary testing ground to state and federal campaigns, but it’s really just in general reaction to wokeness cuz “that’s the point where electoral government touches the crafting of national meaning”, just like school sports and bathrooms aren’t really that fraught but in reaction to a transgender wave that’s where government institutions were already enforcing distinctions keyed off gender
