This show is produced by Cartoon Network Studios, a subsidiary of Warner Bros, the company which has produced the DC Extended Universe movies. The bosses of this show’s makers have a billion-dollar profit incentive to keep dumb arguments like this in circulation
Setting aside the fact that “a stale reheat of arguments made 30 years ago” is not in fact a marker of advancement but exactly what you’d expect smug mediocrity to look like, the “allow their cast and crew” bit completely mistakes how releases (of productions AND creatives) are bottlenecked on audience attention, in a way that’s also 90s-reminiscent of the mainstream adoption of independent film (as a development league)
Thinking about how the Very Special Episode hugging, learning family sitcoms of the 80s-early 90s were in fact stale reheats of the 50s-Camelot 60s
