Depends. On the one hand, there is less anime that panders specifically to the otaku moe aesthetic. On the other hand, basically ALL anime has adopted some of it's characteristics, and there is 2-3x the amount of anime being made nowadays. So one could argue that while it no longer has as much distinct identity, it is more culturally prevalent.
