So I commented on Facebook that the new “People You May Know” was reliably putting a feasibly attractive and life-stage-suitable friend-of-a-friend in the leftmost slot for me to get intrigued by and stop scrolling

And one of my friends snarked back and I pointed out it was usually *his* friends they were showing

So next time they came up I clicked through and… apparently totally valid cute polyamorists from Boston Google where he works, and so I contacted him joking I kinda expected more of the crew from our weirdo dorm to end up moving in this scene and it’s kind of funny really that it’s us, and we caught up and really renewed our bond

And that’s where Facebook is at in 2021: creating heartwarming moments between old friends by suggesting for inscrutable profit-driven reasons that I should want to fuck his girlfriends
