Turning bi is ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯, but I did actively want this once upon a time, and more importantly left myself in a healthy place to process.

Legs: A-. Now that I’ve got them mostly back up to function, raised-arch is a subtly more powerful and efficient way to stand and walk than flatfooted, and my ankles haven’t had this much lateral stability since 2008. I can still do my more spinny, reboundy way of walking but it’s no longer a more efficient way to shift momentum so I don’t.

Hands: B. It was like I had on -2 DEX mittens, then -1, now it’s just -1 fingersocks. Parts where the fingertip numbness plays in, like identifying and manipulating objects in a pocket, are the worst remaining.

Eyes: C+. Seeing in real 3D is neat: everything looks like one of those magic eye pictures, and I can tell distances now. On the other hand things still look weird and tilt-shifty and difficult to estimate motion in peripheral. Also when I was seeing 2 images overlapped I got in the habit of closing my right eye and I’m still doing it in busy environments because resolving into 3D is still imperfect and taxing.

Voice: C-. Certainly because I get least practice here. Even when I’m not slurring my words I talk with a stumbling flow that leads bartenders to cut me off; in particular the edges of my tongue and talking out of the side of my mouth and thus on the phone are a problem, but at least now I only need one request for clarity before I hypercorrect enough for the rest of the call.

"}
