At this point the main bits of Japanese that have settled into my everyday usage are itai repeated, like itaiitaiitai, as “ouch!”, atsui (repeated the same way) for “hot!” when eating food (temperature, not spice) or settling into a bath, anoo as a hesitation noise, and shimatta! as an expression of frustration
